The SG6428XHP is a high-performance Layer 3 managed PoE+ switch designed for enterprise, campus, and service provider networks requiring powerful routing, high-capacity uplinks, and reliable PoE delivery. It provides 24 Gigabit RJ45 PoE+ ports and 4× 10G SFP+ slots, supporting a total PoE power budget of up to 720 W depending on the installed power supply modules. All 10G uplinks can function as stacking ports, offering up to eight units in a stack with 20 Gbps full-duplex bandwidth per stacking port for greater redundancy, scalability, and performance.

This model supports advanced Layer 3 routing such as static routes, RIP v1/v2, OSPF v2/v3, VRRP, ECMP, Proxy ARP, a full DHCP Server (with 8K IP pools and up to 1,000 static bindings), and DHCP Relay based on interface or VLAN. Multicast performance includes IGMP Snooping, MLD Snooping, PIM-DM, Fast Leave, Multicast VLAN Registration (MVR), static multicast entries, and support for 2,048 IGMP groups.

Designed for high availability, the switch comes with two field-replaceable hot-swappable power supply modules (ships with one PSM500-AC by default; the second is optional). Four hot-swappable fans ensure stable cooling. Redundancy is strengthened further with VRRP and Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS). Maximum power consumption reaches 916.6 W when fully powering 720 W of PoE devices, with corresponding heat dissipation of 3,125.61 BTU/hr.

Layer 2 and L2+ features include link aggregation (static and LACP), STP/RSTP/MSTP, loopback detection, 802.3x flow control, ERPS, port mirroring, RSPAN, multicast VLAN, MAC management, and a full multicast feature set. VLAN support includes up to 4K VLANs, MAC VLAN, Voice VLAN, Private VLAN, Protocol VLAN, Management VLAN, QinQ (up to 256 entries), and GVRP.

Security protections include port isolation, CPU-Defend, Dynamic ARP Inspection, IP-MAC-Port Binding (1,024 entries), DHCP Snooping, IPv6 ND protection and snooping, IPv6 Source Guard, DHCP filters, DoS defense, static/dynamic port security (up to 64 MACs per port), storm control, ACLs based on MAC/IP/port, AAA with RADIUS and TACACS+, 802.1X (port-based, MAC-based, guest VLAN, and MAB), and encrypted management via HTTPS (SSLv3/TLS 1.2) and SSHv2.

The SG6428XHP integrates fully with Omada SDN for centralized cloud management and supports standalone administration via Web GUI, CLI (RJ45/USB-C console or Telnet), SNMP v1/v2c/v3, LLDP/LLDP-MED, RMON, DHCP Auto Install, SDM templates, dual image/config storage, CPU monitoring, cable diagnostics, SNTP, and system logs.
