The SG5428XMPP is a powerful Lite Layer 3 managed PoE++ switch designed for enterprise networks, surveillance deployments, hospitality, and high-density PoE environments. It features 24 Gigabit ports, including 8× PoE++ 802.3bt ports delivering up to 90W per port, and 16× PoE+ ports supporting up to 30W per port—ideal for powering PTZ cameras, Wi-Fi 6/6E access points, VoIP phones, and other high-power devices. With a robust 500W total PoE budget, it ensures reliable operation even in demanding installations. Fast PoE and Perpetual PoE maintain device power during restarts for improved uptime.

For high-speed uplinks and stacking, the switch includes 4× 10G SFP+ slots. It supports physical stacking of up to four units with up to 80 Gbps of stacking bandwidth, allowing centralized management, redundancy, and scalable performance. The switch delivers 128 Gbps switching capacity and a packet forwarding rate of 95.23 Mpps, backed by a 16K MAC table, 12 Mbit packet buffer, and jumbo frame support (9 KB).

Designed for stability, the SG5428XMPP includes three internal cooling fans and offers excellent heat dissipation. The rackmountable 440 × 330 × 44 mm chassis is built for reliable operation, with a thermal range from -5°C to 45°C. Maximum power consumption reaches 587.7–615.8 W when the full 500W PoE budget is in use.

L3 routing capabilities include Static Routing (IPv4/IPv6), RIP v1/v2, OSPF v2/v3, Proxy ARP, and DHCP Server/Relay, supporting up to 128 IP interfaces, 512 IPv4 static routes, 128 IPv6 static routes, and 1,024 host routes. DHCP functions include 64 IP pools and up to 1,000 static bindings, making it suitable for segmented networks and multi-tenant environments.

Its L2/L2+ feature set includes link aggregation, STP/RSTP/MSTP, ERPS (for rapid ring recovery), loopback detection, 802.3x flow control, mirroring, RSPAN, and extensive multicast support (IGMP Snooping, MLD Snooping, MVR, Fast Leave, 2,000 multicast entries).

Security is enterprise-grade with features like Port Isolation, CPU-Defend, Dynamic ARP Inspection, IP-MAC-Port Binding (1,024 entries), DHCP Snooping, Source Guard (IPv4/IPv6), ND Snooping, DHCP filtering, DoS protection, port security (up to 64 MACs per port), storm control, and ACL support for IP/MAC/port filtering. Authentication features include 802.1X, MAB, Guest VLAN, RADIUS, and TACACS+. Management access is secured via HTTPS/SSL and SSHv2.

QoS capabilities include 8 queues of priority, 802.1p/DSCP priority, SP/WRR/SP+WRR scheduling, bandwidth control, storm control, Voice VLAN, and traffic remarking.

ISP-focused functions—such as 802.3ah OAM, L2PT tunneling, DLDP, DDM, and sFlow—make this switch suitable for service providers and large campus networks.

Management is flexible through Omada SDN (hardware, software, or cloud controllers), offering Zero-Touch Provisioning, centralized monitoring, batch configuration, and automated firmware updates. Standalone management options include a Web GUI, CLI (via console, USB-C, or telnet), SNMP v1/v2c/v3, LLDP/LLDP-MED, RMON, cable diagnostics, dual image support, SDM templates, and system logs.
